3 days ready at home
The Danish authorities say every home should be able to manage on its own for 3 days in a crisis. That is the whole plan. The rest of this page shows what it takes.

Why this page exists
Tuesday, late afternoon
It is Tuesday. The power is out.
The dishwasher stops mid-cycle. The fridge hums oddly, then not at all. The router light goes dark. Your phone says 23%. At the supermarket the card terminal shows an error and the queue is not moving. Nobody knows if this lasts an hour or a week. The authorities ask one thing: every home manages on its own for 3 days, so help can go first to the hospital, the care home and the people who really need it. That is the whole idea behind this page. Not bunkers. Not towers of tinned food. A few things in the cupboard and a plan you can explain to your mother-in-law.
If something happens
When the siren sounds
- Step 1
Go indoors
Come inside and stay inside. Close windows and doors.
- Step 2
Get information
Listen to the news. A battery or wind-up FM radio works when the internet does not.

- Step 3
Follow the advice
Do what the authorities say. Check a source before you share news, so rumours do not spread.

Real emergencies
Keep the line free for life-threatening calls. If 112 is down, the authorities will announce other numbers.
Do this now
Three small steps
- Add this page to your phone
It then works without internet, which is the whole point.
- Tick what you already have
Most homes are halfway there. The list remembers your ticks on this device.
- Buy a little extra on the next shop
A few tins, a pack of batteries, one more bottle of water. Done in a month.
